Welcome to Twickenham Art Circle

This website tells you about our activities, shows you examples of our members’ work and, if you are a fellow artist, invites you to join us.
The Circle was formed in 1948 by a group of friends who decided to meet together to paint and draw. Today it has around 100 members.
Our Winter Programme runs from October to March when we meet once or twice a month on a Saturday afternoon to paint or draw still life or the human figure in the studio. These workshops are currently held at the Clifden Centre of Richmond Adult Community College in Twickenham. We also hold a critique of members’ works and occasionally have demonstrations and illustrated talks by professional artists and lecturers.
In the summer we meet fortnightly on a Saturday morning to paint or draw the landscape at various local outdoor locations. Some of these meetings mix painting with social get-togethers.
We hold at least one exhibition each year allowing members to exhibit and sell their works. Additionally, members may submit works to exhibitions sponsored by artsrichmond (Richmond upon Thames Arts Council) to which TAC is affiliated
We offer two categories of membership. You must be a Full Member in order to submit work for exhibitions. If you do not wish to exhibit, you can take part in all other activities as an Associate Member. New members of either category are always welcome. We would particularly like to see more younger members and also sculptors and potters as well as painters.
We are very happy for prospective new members to come along to one of our Winter or Summer Programme sessions, without any obligation to join.
